Well as you may know Brad and I visted our friend's Paul and Amy in California this weekend. They live in between LA and San Diego so that was very convient for our trip since we spent one day in San Diego, and another day in LA.
We flew in Thursday morning, and had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Paul thought we were huge eater and bought a 18lb turkey for Amy to cook. We had plenty of turkey to eat, along with all the usual Thankgiving sides (mash potatos, sweet potatos, stuffing, cranbarries, etc) We then played cards, ate some pie and cookies, and then played some rockstar Wii game. We had a blast. We then had leftovers, because we were hungry again which I didn't understand since we stuffed ourselves just 4-5 hours before. But that's Thanksgiving, and it was great.
On Friday morning Brad and Paul went to the ocean to swim. The water was on the chilly side, but that didn't stop them. The waves were huge, but they had a great time. Then we went to the San Diego Wildlife Zoo (not the San Diego Zoo, the Wildlife Zoo). The Wildlife Zoo was great. They had all different kinds of animals and a lot of baby animals, like baby elephants, baby rhinos, and baby monkies. This place was better then the Zoo because the animals weren't stuck behind glass and were more out in the open. We did this tram ride around the African part of the Zoo, where they have animals just roaming on acres of land. It's a nice set up for the animals. I think we walked off our Thanksgiving dinner, walking around the zoo.
On Saturday we went to Venice beach and walked around. I couldn't get over the number of people that were there, enjoying the out doors and all the little shops. I was also shocked by the number of people biking and running along the beaches bike path. We walked around and got some lunch and headed to Hollywood. We drove down Rodeo Dr. They had chandliers hanging for street light (I have pictures to prove it). Rodeo Dr was defiently high end and had all the high price shops, chennal, versace, armani, jimmy choo, etc. We did not stop and shop..suprise, suprise. We then went to Hollywood blvd, where we saw the "HOLLYWOOD" sign. We also saw the Kodak Theather were the Oscer's are held, we saw the Chinese Theather which has celebrity names and hand and foot prints in the sidewalk, and we saw some stars name on the sidewalk in the stars. It was very cool. We didn't see any celebrities but oh well. Sunday morning we got up early and headed to LAX for our flight to Salt Lake City. We then got home took a nap and got all of our Christmas decorations out and up.
