Well Brad and I went to Portland, OR for a weekend. We left Friday night, and flew back in early Monday morning. We had a great time. Friday we got in late and just went to bed knowing it was going to be a full day on Saturday and we were both beat from the work week.
On Saturday we got up and went to downtown Portland. We stumbled across a farmers market, where we had a great crepe with nutella. It was so good. Then we just walked around. The city was so clean and nice. Then we went drove along the Columbia River to a view of Mt. Hood. Brad and I couldn't get over how pretty, and green everything was. Along the side of the road were a couple waterfalls, so that was neat. We drove for a while until we had a great view of Mt. Hood, took some pictures and head back to the city. Brad and I saw Mt. Hood from the plane as we flew into Porltand. It was right outside our window, so we didn't fell the need to go to the base of it or anything. After seeing Mt. Hood we went to Multnomah Falls. Saturday was a typcial Portland day, were it rained and was sunny, rained and was sunny. So when we were at the Falls it was raining. The falls was so pretty because it was surrounded by the green, green trees. It was really an unreal sight.
Then Brad and I drove around Portland some more. We ventured into the outskirts, and up to one of the mountians over looking Portland. We wish it was clear day, but we could see pretty far. Brad and I then went out to dinner to celebrat my Bday, and then we walked around the city at night. It was a long day, but we saw a lot so we didn't mind.
On Sunday we packed up, and headed to the Oregon Coast. It was about a 1.5 hr drive from the city but we both really wanted to go and had plenty of time since our flight was at 5pm to go to SLC. The drive was really cool. It was this road surronded by trees, winding through the mountains of Oregon. It was kind of depressing at points, because there is a lot of logging and you could see where the trees were all cut down, but Brad and I exnored those views. The Coast was really pretty. It wasn't beach season yet, but we were shocked by the number of people on the beach. I guess people go to dig some kind of fish out of the sand when the tide is out. So Brad and I watch these people with these special shovels, putting all these holes in the beach trying to find whatever type of fish they were looking for (see pictures). Brad and I walked the beach and then we walked and hung out in the little oceanside town called Seaside. Then we headed back to Portland, and the airport. On a way back from the coast we stopped at a resturant called Camp 18, and had a great meal. The resturant was this log cabin, and the food was just wonderful. Once we got to the airport, we found out that our flight has been over booked and they might need volunteers to give up there seats. Brad and I volunteered, and they ended up needing our seats, so we got to spend some more time in Portland.
So Brad and I got a hotel and another rental car, and drove around some more. We went back to Multnomah Falls, and the Columbia River, since we really enjoyed the greenes, and the sights. Then on our way downtown to a bookstore, we tood a wrong turn and ended up in going North into Washington. And Since it was clear and sunny day Brad and I could see for miles, and ended up seeing Mt. Rainier. That was the coolest things ever. It was just so big, and we were miles away. After figuring out how we ended up in Washington, we found our way to Powells Book Store, which is the largest new and used bookstore in the world. It is a whole city block and has more then a million books to choose from. Brad and I were overwhelmed with the rooms upon rooms full of books. Brad and I then decided to get back to our hotel room for our 4 hour nap, since it was already after 11pm, and we need to get to the airport at 4am. The trip couldn't of gone better. Brad and I had a great time. We love the city, and how green it was. We are already talking about how we need to drive out there and spend some time hiking and camping, and seeing the other sights of Oregon.
Happy Easter
Brad and I celebrated Easter out on the slopes. It was good skiing. We got about 4 inches the night before in the mountains, but it was a warm day, so at the end of the day it was slushy. This was our last time out for the 08-09 ski season. Most of the resorts closed today.
Brad and I cannot complain about our ski season. We skied Solitude, Snowbird, Deer Valley, Canyons, Jackson Hole, and Grand Targhee ski resort. Brad got out 24 times this season, I got out 23 times. We had a handful of powder days this season, and could not complain at the conditions at all. All in all Brad and I both loved out of the whole season skiing at Grand Targhee in WY.

SKIING POWDER
Brad and I had the best ski day on Saturday April 4th. Friday night it snowed all day in the mountains and by Saturday morning there was 11 inches of fresh powder on the slopes. Brad and I could not believe the conditions. Even the runs that they groomed on Friday night were covered in powder, so the whole mounntain was just covered with fresh snow. It was wonderful. Brad and I skiied for 5 hours straight, and then came back to out apartment and took about a 2 hour nap...we were so beat. The snow the up to our knees in some places, but mostly to the middle of our shins. We couldn't believe that we were skiing these conditions in April.

Utah Jazz Game- April 3rd
Well Brad and I went to a NBA basketball game last Friday (April 3rd). The Utah Jazz played the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was a good game, but the Jazz lost in the last 2 minutes of the game with the ending score of 102 to 103. Brad and I had a great time.
Here is a write up of the game:
Wolves end nine-game road losing streak with win over Jazz
Associated Press
SALT LAKE CITY -- Rodney Carney scored 10 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter, including a tiebreaking 3-pointer with a minute left and the Minnesota Timberwolves held off Utah 103-102 on Friday night to snap a nine-game road skid and end the Jazz's home winning streak at 15.
Deron Williams missed a shot at the buzzer that would have won it for Utah, which lost its third straight overall. The home loss was a huge blow to the Jazz's diminishing hopes for home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
Williams thought he was fouled on the final shot and shouted at the officials as they left the floor before he finally went to the locker room. He finished with 34 points and 11 assists.
Ryan Gomes also scored 25, and Mike Miller had 14 points and nine rebounds for Minnesota, which outrebounded Utah 42-28.
Kyle Korver added 19 points for Utah, and Andrei Kirilenko scored 13, going 6-for-7 from the floor and blocking three shots.
Phil Johnson coached the Jazz with Jerry Sloan in Illinois for his brother's funeral.
Minnesota hadn't beaten Utah this season, but rallied from a 15-point deficit for its 22nd win of the season -- just the 11th on the road.
Utah had lost Northwest Division games at Portland and Denver this week, falling to seventh place in the west and in danger of slipping to eighth and drawing the top-seeded Lakers in the first round of the playoffs.
The Jazz are on the road next starting Sunday at New Orleans, followed by games at Dallas and San Antonio -- where they haven't won in more than 10 years -- Utah needs to win at home.
The Jazz are only 14-23 on the road.
The Jazz had blown double-digit leads in the second half of their last two home games and needed to rally to win both. Utah continued living dangerously Friday, when Minnesota came back from 15-points behind and this time the Jazz couldn't come from behind.
Carney hit a 3-pointer with a minute left that put the Wolves ahead 101-98, then after a tip-in by Paul Millsap got the Jazz back within a point, Miller connected from 22 feet to stretch the lead back to three.
Williams quickly drove for a layup with 27 seconds left to cut it to 103-102 and the Jazz chose not to foul on Minnesota's next possession, forcing Gomes to take a 25-foot shot that bounced off the rim. Kirilenko got the rebound and called time out with 2.3 seconds to go.
Minnesota called a timeout after the Jazz lined up for the inbounds pass and reset the defense. Williams came off a screen and got a good look at the basket from about 16 feet, but he was way off and the buzzer sounded.
Williams had been saving the Jazz most of the night, drawing a foul from Sebastian Telfair at the top of the key for a four-point play in the third quarter. Williams went right through Telfair's meek foul and took a 3-pointer off of one foot as he flew toward the basket. The ball banked in and Williams added a free throw to give the Jazz a 77-72 lead.
I couldn't resist-High School Musical
Most of you don't know this fact but High School Musical 1 and 3 were filmed right here in Salt Lake City. In the movie they claim they are in Albuguergue, New Mexico but they are really in Utah. Here are some pictures of the school where the movie was flimed.
