Our Trip

Well, Brad and I made it successfully from Utah to New York with all of our stuff.

Yes, the Subaru has three bikes and two kayaks on its roof.

In 2007 when we drove out to Utah we were under the gun to get there to start work and classes and we didn't get a chance to see the sights. This time we planned it so we could see the sights along the way. We left Saturday July 31st in the afternoon and drove up to WY. On Sunday morning we stopped at Devil's Tower National Park.

We then continued into South Dakota where we went to Mount Rushmore.

We then went to Wall Drug. Wall Drug is drug store which offers free ice water and 5 cent coffee. This drug store had been around since 1931 and is now the huge tourist attraction. Brad and I saw Wall Drug featured on the Travel Channel and thought we should stop there on our trip and we did.

From Wall Drug we visited the Badlands National Park.

We then continued the rest of the way through South Dakota and through Minnesota to Wisconsin.

In Wisconsin we stopped to do a tour of a Frank Lloyd Wright house. Taliesin is the actual house that Frank lived in. It also has his School of Architecture. The tour was very informative and enjoyable.

While in Wisconsin we also took sometime to mountain bike. We mountain biked this trail which has been mentioned in some of Brad's mountain biking magazines.

After Wisconsin we did the final stretch to New York.

We got into Rochester on Thursday August 5th at about 4:30. We traveled a total of 2,987 miles in about 4 days. To see all the pictures from our trip see the album on the right side of this post.

We are still working on a name for our new blog, so just sit tight.
